Description
This paper presents preliminary findings from an ongoing investigation into the effect of continuous professional development (CPD) on the teaching of university lecturers. We sought to explore the experiences of lecturers who have taken part in CPD and how these experiences had changed their teaching styles. Specifically, the objectives were to inquire into their reason (s) for embarking on CPD, the types of CPD undertaken as well as the changes that had been made in their teaching, learning and assessment practice as a result of their CPD. The study used interviews as well as self-reflective reports to ascertain answers to these objectives from participants‟ perspectives. This paper compares and determines the most important changes that have occurred in the teaching/learning at the Ghana Technology University College and possible future impact that the changes may have on lecturers.
