                <text>The issue of sex determination (before conception) is beyond the study of Science. Though current studies have developed means to determine gender, it is not until the baby has been conceived. After conception, scientific methods can be used to determine whether the baby will be a boy or a girl. This study seeks to use the age of the mother and the month in which she conceives to predict the gender of the baby, using appropriate statistical methods. The data used for this study was extracted from the delivery books of the Maternity Department of Achimota Hospital in the Amasaman District of Greater Accra Region in Ghana from 2000-2004. Logistic regression was used to analyze the data since the dependent variable has only two possible values (Male or Female). The results reveal that the odds of estimating correctly the gender of a baby improves by only 0.4% if one knows the age of the mother and by 1.1% if one knows the month within which the child was conceived.</text>

                <text>The reason why businesses devote a lot of attention to the concept and practice of value creation is that it is at the core of its survival and later prosperity. To this end from the very first day that the company starts its operations or service, it begins to take action and strategy that will allow it to measure the ever changing desires and expectation of its different stakeholders and then position itself strategically to reach each of them in the exact manner that it is expected. The existing literature is replete with conflicting studies on the ranking of stakeholders in an organization. While some studies perceive shareholders as preeminent stakeholders, others consider the role of customers, employees and management team members as the most important. Yet emerging theories and concepts of stakeholder theory suggest a complementary role hence the nullification of a ranked stakeholder ladder. This paper reviews the underlining theories and arguments in this highly contested area of business development.</text>

                <text>he study was designed to identify the impact of social media usage on academic performance of undergraduate students of Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Accra. The survey method was adopted for this study. The objectives of this study were to find out the purpose of visit to these social media platforms, to analyse the average time spent on these platforms, to discover the effects of these platforms on the academic performance of students and to examine related problems in the usage of the platforms. 800 students were selected as sample for the study. Random sampling technique was employed for sample selection. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS version 20) was used to analyze the data. From the findings, it was concluded that despite public views concerning the misuse of social media among the youth, most of the students were interested to use social media positively for their academic purposes. The study recommended that counselling programs must be designed for students to understand themselves and manage their study time to avoid social media misuse.</text>

                <text>The study was carried out to ascertain the significance of collection development policy in some public academic libraries in Ghana with Ghana Communication Technology University as the case study. The study adopted a case study design and used a qualitative method in its examinations. A self-designed interview schedule was used to solicit information from the staff library. The study participants included the head librarian, deputy librarian and four (4) assistant librarians. The face-to-face interview method was used as a data collection instrument for this study–content analysis was used to analyse the data. The findings indicated that the university library has a CDP which is reviewed biennially. However, further findings revealed that even though CDPs exist in the library it does not feature much when it comes to acquisitions. It was recommended that management of the library should make a conscious effort to use the policy to guide acquisitions.</text>

The study adopted a case study design and used a qualitative method in its examinations. A self-designed interview schedule was used to solicit information from the staff library. The study participants included the head librarian, deputy librarian and four (4) assistant librarians.                 <text>The study was designed to identify the impact of social media usage on academic performance of undergraduate students of Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Accra. The survey method was adopted for this study. The objectives of this study were to find out the purpose of visit to these social media platforms, to analyse the average time spent on these platforms, to discover the effects of these platforms on the academic performance of students and to examine related problems in the usage of the platforms. 800 students were selected as sample for the study. Random sampling technique was employed for sample selection. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS version 20) was used to analyze the data. From the findings, it was concluded that despite public views concerning the misuse of social media among the youth, most of the students were interested to use social media positively for their academic purposes. The study recommended that counselling programs must be designed for students to understand themselves and manage their study time to avoid social media misuse.</text>

                <text>Employees’ productivity is a relationship that exists between outputs and inputs. Employees’ benefits play a significant role in an organization that wants to achieve its strategic goals and objectives. In this sense, organization that is unable to effectively manage this aspect of human resource activity will end up experiencing a decline in organization and employees’ performance, as well as their productivity. There are instances that the employees themselves do not recognize the fact that, their benefits is a package and not only cash related. Based on the understanding, it can be stated that, the understanding of employee benefits package is managed poorly and most of the time, these employees productivity is adversely impacted negatively. In this sense, it is of the researcher to investigate to the understanding of what actually contribute to the main employees’ benefits package and how it can effectively be managed and be linked to their productivity. For the purpose of this study, the descriptive survey was used. The study will be carried out at Palmers Green Group of Companies. Currently, the total population in this organization is 105. However, to be able to capture a balance report, the research will focus on the managements, board of directors and the employees. From the data gathered from the respondents, the benefit packages available include employment security benefits, protection of health benefits, retirement benefits and personnel recognition benefits. However, based on these 4 concepts, it can categorically be stated that, for organizations to be able to management their benefits to employees effectively, they require a positive influence towards the employees, and need to have an in-depth understanding of the various approach of employee benefits as the main factor that can motivate employees and further direct the employees towards achieving organizational goals and objectives.
