                <text>The processing of cocoa involves a couple of technological processes such as roasting and drying which consume lots of energy. The ever increasing cost of energy has created the need for continuous optimization of the technological processes to minimize their operational cost. The selection of the appropriate equipment for each process is the first step to optimize the entire process. In recent times, drying technologies have evolved and have become more diverse and complex. Also, there is the need to meet stricter quality specifications, higher production rates, higher energy costs and stringent environmental regulations. As a result, selecting the right dryer for the right product has become an increasingly difficult task. In this paper, we attempted to describe the technological stages of cocoa processing and classified the various types of dryers available for the various stages of cocoa processing. This is important because the engineers responsible for the selection of a drying system need to be informed on the available equipment on the market, what the key criteria are in the selection process and thus arrive at alternative possibilities before a choice is made.</text>

                <text>The Optical fiber communication system in telecommunication transmission networks has&#13;
enormous characteristics such as very high bandwidth, security and speed over the traditional &#13;
systems such as microwave especially in the backhaul and front haul. Although mobile network &#13;
operators have significantly invested in their transmission network using fiber optic infrastructure &#13;
to replace the traditional systems, there has been an increase in the number of network outages in &#13;
fiber optics networks such as fiber cable and components failures. This research work was carried &#13;
out using Vodafone Ghana Ltd optical network infrastructure as a case study to investigate and &#13;
analyze causes of failures in fiber optic systems. The research design is explanatory, a pragmatic &#13;
approach, where the initial quantitative data results were further explained with a qualitative study. &#13;
Interview guide used to obtain the qualitative data and a questionnaire used for the quantitative &#13;
data from the technical teams responsible for maintaining the optical network across the country &#13;
and have the technical expertise of operating and maintaining the optical network.&#13;
The study established there are major and minor causes of fibers optic systems failures. The major &#13;
failures are constructions/excavating/digging activities, broken core issues, messy joint box faults &#13;
and rodents/terminate activities. While bush burning, weeding/farming, vandalism, sand winning, &#13;
faulty splitter, aerial cable damage, cable theft, rains/flooding, kink, degraded core, patch cord &#13;
issues and faulty module are minor causes. The study further established that it’s due to internal &#13;
factors such as no due diligence in deployment of fibers systems leading to cables been exposed &#13;
or shallow buried, leaving dugout not correctly covered, exposed fiber cabinets too natural &#13;
phenomenon such as rains/floods/terminates, and virtually no routine preventive maintenance. &#13;
Although, this study acknowledges that there is the need for external stakeholder consultation in &#13;
addressing one of the major issues such as the activities of the contractors, this study is of the view &#13;
that considering root causes of the both the major and minor issues, internal stakeholder is much needed in this regard.&#13;

                <text>The extant literature shows that when the CEO of a firm is the same as the chairman of the board of directors it is more likely to affect independence of the board and the management of the establishment. For this reason business organization ensure independence of the two persons in order to reduce the propensity for conflict of interest in the organization. The objective of this study is to establish the veracity in the claim that personality related factors of corporate governance exert significant influence on performance of forms. Hypothesis 1 is accepted because the analysis shows that CEO Duality has a negative influence on return on asset hence performance of firm. Similarly hypothesis 1b is also affirmed considering that a unit increase in CEO Succession also negatively influences the performance of firms in terms of their return on assets. The influence of board gender composition on the return on assets or firm performance as postulated in hypothesis 1c has also been affirmed by the positive and statistically significant relationships analysed in this study. The findings of this research do not support the influence of board educational level and board experience as a significant factor in stimulating the performance of firms. This is because both results returned ap value less than 0.05 at 95% confidence interval.</text>

                <text>The main aim of this project is to evaluate and compare the financial performance of both foreign banks and domestic banks in Ghana. It does this by using the financial statements of twenty-two (22) banks in Ghana for the period (2012-2016), employing the CAMEL analysis. It uses descriptive statistics and t-statistics for the analysis. From the result, foreign banks depend less on debt when funding their operation compared to domestic banks in Ghana. The average equity to asset ratio (capital adequacy) of foreign banks is higher than domestic banks since the bank of Ghana sets high capital requirements for foreign banks than domestic banks. In terms of asset quality, the study found that domestic banks are able to recover most of their loan portfolios than foreign banks. The study found that on the average, foreign banks have higher non-performing loans than domestic banks. The results indicate that foreign banks incur more costs or pay their managers more than domestic banks. In general, foreign banks are more liquid than domestic banks. To conclude, the study found no significant difference between the average performance (profitability) of foreign banks and the average performance (profitability) domestic banks. The study recommends that domestic banks should employ effective policies that impacts positively on the overall capital adequacy ratios, asset quality, management efficiency, profitability and liquidity risk. Management of banks must review their statement and analyze periodically their performance to know the extent to which debt components are being used to finance operations compared to equity; hence managers should know how and to what extent debt and credit risk influence their performance.</text>
