The study further explores the factors of work life balance practices that should be implemented through policy to enhance employee commitment and reduce turnover intentions. The study sampled one hundred and thirty five (135) employees from a tertiary institution in Ghana. Quantitative data was collected through the administering of questionnaires and data was analyzed using SPSS. Findings indicate that although WLB has a strong and negative relationship with employee turnover intentions, it does not contribute to employee commitment. It was also observed that among the WLB practices, schedule flexibility has a stronger impact on employee turnover intentions. The study focused on employees in the tertiary education sector and thus the research findings cannot be generalized across the educational sector nor other economic sectors in Ghana. Management should focus on practicing work life balance in their organizations so as to ensure better commitment in organizational activities and also to prevent employees from quitting. Further, managers should try to continue improving the conditions of work for their employees since it significantly discourages employee from quitting. The study makes a significant contribution to the concept of WLB and its direct impact on employee outcomes. Taking the particular case of a little known name in international football circles, the study highlights a potential avenue for domestic league development vis-à-vis the national league. The study is primarily documentary analysis driven, drawing upon a mixture of official statistics, contingent literature and personal observation-especially the on-pitch performance of the Rwanda National Professional League Football. Insights are also drawn from the National Team, i.e., “The Wasps” or “Amavubi” in Kinyarwanda – the local language. A similar approach has been undertaken for the case of the Sharjah Football Club in the United Arab Emirates, The Nigerian Football Federation and the “the War Elephants,” i.e., (Thai national football team). The study weaves in stadium development such as those featured at the recently concluded AfCON, i.e., Japoma Stadium (Douala), Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, and Olembé Stadium (Yaoundé), and Kouekong Stadium (Bafoussam), Roumdé-Adjia Stadium (Garoua) and the Limbe Omnisport Stadium (Limbe-Buea). Similarly, Rwanda-based stadia are showcased, e.g., Stade Amahoro and Stade Régional de Nyamirambo (Kigali); Stade Huye; Bugesera Stadium; and Stade Umuganda. Overall, the study advances a potential avenue for football governance, infrastructure development, investments, and a perception change of a range of stakeholders including fans and other regional and international observers (including potential investors) of football in a country at the forefront of African development. The study, which was conducted in four communities employed qualitative methods to uncover the many complexities of involuntary return and its implications for development in southern countries; an under-researched area in the migration-return nexus. The findings highlight the effect of the sudden loss of remittances on family expenditure, especially the education of children, and reveal the coping strategies adopted by returnees in the absence of formal reintegration assistance. Successful reintegration has not occurred for the majority of returnees who are being induced by unfavorable economic circumstances and the absence of reintegration assistance to re-emigrate. The absence of an explicit migration policy has led to the neglect of returnees and caused the nation to miss the potential benefits of return migration for development.
