                <text>This study aimed to examine social media usage and its effects on students' academic performance. The study adopted a survey design approach. The population for this study consisted of undergraduate students from two universities, thus, one private university (Valley View University–VVU) in Techiman in the Bono Region and one public university (Ghana Communications Technology University) in Takoradi, in the Western Region. The study used 5% of the population to arrive at a sample size of 381. The stratified and simple random sampling techniques were applied to select the students. A well–structured questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. The study established that social media had negatively affected their English writing skills, which is detrimental to their academic performance. The results showed that most students visited social media platforms daily and spent more time on these platforms. The study identified challenges like; lack of personal security and privacy, poor internet services, unreliable power, the cost of internet connectivity, and many others. The study made recommendations to the management of both universities to organise workshops and seminars and educate students on the dangers of excessive use of social media platforms.</text>

                <text>The main aim of the study was to investigate the effects of Supply Chain Management practices (SCM) on organizational performance of pharmaceutical firms in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. The research objective was to examine the relationship between SCM practices and organizational performance.Based on the review of literature, various SCM practices and performance metrics were identified. This study relied on questionnaire and interview to elicit data from 119 pharmaceutical firms and 4 senior managers respectively . The data was analyzed using both Partial Least Square (PLS) based Structural Equation Modelling and Nnivo 12 softwares. The findings indicated a significant positive relationship between SCM practices and organizational performance of pharmaceutical firms in Accra. Results from the study suggest that strategic purchasing, customer relationship management, strategic supplier relationship, information sharing and internal lean practices are significant predictors of organizational performance. The mediating roles of customer responsiveness and delivery dependability were also explored. The findings were discussed in the context of previous research and theoretical implications drawn. It also provides managerial insights and implications for both academics and&#13;
managers to gain better understanding of supply chain management in general and more specifically supply chain management practices as it relates to the Ghanaian pharmaceutical industry.</text>

                <text>This study investigated co-workers’ perceptions, and use, of blogging as a means for soliciting and receiving feedback on issues related to their work, with the objective of determining how blogging possibly contributes to a participatory learning culture in the workplace. The study involved about 50 staff members in a research unit within an institution of higher learning in the Northeastern United States who use the Unit’s blog to:(1) share information of interest,(2) update work progress,(3) reflect on work activity, and (4) solicit feedback on their work activities from colleagues. The study analyzed records of the year-long blogging activities of these staff members as well as their responses to a survey. Findings point to the possible involvement of blogging in the Unit’s participatory work culture, but reveal mixed correlations between the inclusion of various media elements in blog posts, and corresponding responses. Also, no clear relationship could be established between workers’ perceptions of the usefulness of the blog and their actual blogging activities. Implications of these findings with regard to workplace collaboration and learning are discussed.</text>

                <text>The application of natural language processing (NLP) methods to designing conversational frameworks for health diagnosis improves patients’ access to medical information. An Android application based on fuzzy logic rules and fuzzy inference was created in this research. In Ghana, the service assesses the symptoms of diseases. The android application is built with the Support Vector Machine learning technique, with the aim of improving the model’s accuracy and performance. Natural Language Processing is often used by the machine to achieve the conversational style of asking the users for their symptoms. People can spend less time in hospitals and get low-cost or free care by using this technique, which is mainly used in Ghana’s rural areas.</text>

                <text>The use of information system in the maritime industry and most especially in Ghana Ports and Habours provides the organisation with a much-improved service as well as efficiency and effectiveness of personnel. The success derived from Information System (IS) implementation is very important and so is the criteria and parameters for measuring or assessing such success. Several implementations of IS is on-going without any reference to an impact assessment of previously implemented one. As a result, most of these implementations are suffering from unresolved challenges of pervious systems. This study however, used an existing model for IS success for evaluating an information system’s success (ISS) at the Port of Tema by applying the DeLone &amp; McLean update IS success model (D&amp;M). The proposed model was adopted to demonstrate how its elements could be applied in evaluating IS implementations and also to support the decision makers in evaluating and developing the information systems. The study adopted a mixed method approach which includes both qualitative and quantitative approaches. 150 questionnaires were administered to collect primary data from port operational staff of GPHA and secondary data of organisation reports were also obtained for analysis. The results indicated that perceived usefulness, ease of use, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, user support significantly affected the use and user satisfaction of an information. It further indicated that an increase in these variables will result in positive outcome from the information system implementation. The proposed model used better explains the interrelation between the constructs and the interrelationship that exit among the construct has a strong statistical significance influence on GPHA employee usage intention.&#13;
