This is a qualitative study that analysed the difficulties that level 100 Francophone students who have French as a Second Language(L2) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in a Ghanaian university face in identifying English determiners. The data used for the analysis comprised students' written exercises. The data gathered in the study were analysed qualitatively. The theoretical framework on which this research is based is article-focused theory which is discourse rule transfer propounded by Robertson (2000) as well as the semantic model developed by Huebner (1983), known as the "semantic wheel for noun phrase reference". This study was engaged through the application of the Jensen Alpha Index to ascertain the performance of 10 mutual funds listed on the Ghana Stock exchange for a period of 5 years (2010-2014). The results acquired from the analyses indicated that all the 10 listed mutual funds were statistically significant and further elucidate that 90 percent of the fund managers generated excess returns for their investors, while 10 percent being unable to generate excess returns based on their stock selection skills. The results revealed that 80% of the Mutual Funds recorded high raw returns with a strong correlation coefficient of+ 0.6089 between the raw returns and total risk. It was also found that the average Sharpe index for all the Mutual Funds was 1.351 outperforming the benchmark index of 0.300 and more so the average Treynor index for all the Mutual Funds was 12.68 beating the benchmark index of 9.59. Moreover 80% of the Mutual Funds were highly diversified with an average adjusted R-square of 59.88%. The analysis concluded that, the money market funds had a superior performance than the balanced and equity funds under all the three performance evaluation techniques.
