It was also to establish how donations have impacted the collection development of the library as well as service delivery. Study participants comprised of one (1) Head Librarian and four (4) assistant librarians. The face-to-face interview method was employed as a data collection instrument for this study–content analysis was used to analyse the data. The findings indicated that even though there was a collection development policy to regulate acquisitions, the policy was not of much use due to the economic situation in the country and low budget allocation to the library. Findings also revealed that the University library hardly receives donations. Findings again indicated that this library lacks adequate resources to serve its clients. It was recommended that librarians of GCTU should be proactive in soliciting for donations from alumni, corporate bodies, international organizations and philanthropic organizations to supplement purchases for better service delivery to users. It was also recommended that management of the GCTU library should lobby for adequate funds to purchase needed resources. Findings indicated that these two university libraries received donations on regular basis from their partners. This study examines the extent of use of library resources in Ghana Communication Technology University, Accra, Ghana. Two separate questionnaires were used to gather data. 400 registered library users were selected using the stratified random sampling technique. The findings revealed that 46.87% of the students sampled visited the library to read for examination while most faculty members visited the library to consult journals, electronic or print resources and to read newspapers. Also, students used the online catalogue to locate materials more than faculty. It was recommended that faculty give reading assignments that will require students to consult journals and other resources in the library, not just for examination purposes. The library should also embark on aggressive awareness creation on regular basis to showcase the various resources available in the library. The study set out to find out if there exists a collection development policy at GCTU library. The population of the study was grouped into two main categories, namely users of the library and the library staff. In the selection of students, the simple random sampling technique was used to select the participants. The general population for library staff was used. The sample size of the student participants was 226 comprising 120 male, 106 female students, and 16 library staff. Data for the study was collected through questionnaire and interviews. The SPSS was used to analyze the questionnaire and content analysis used to analyse the interviews. The findings revealed that the GCTU library has a collection development policy even though it does not guide selection so much. Findings again indicated that the library has both print and electronic resource for its users, as well as 24-hour internet services but it is not too stable. It was recommended that the supply of internet to the library should be improved to aid the access to the library’s e-resources.
